The findings show crypto assets continue to become more popular as 21 percent of the 1,000 participants surveyed have dabbled in crypto assets.

Launching Bitcoin.com, Sunday (3/4/2022), digital currencies have experienced significant growth over the past year as the crypto economy is currently worth USD 2.2 trillion or around IDR 31,600 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 14,363 per US dollar) at the time this article was published. According to an NBC News poll, one in five residents of the United States has used cryptocurrency in some way, and its popularity among men is significant.

Male participants held the lion's share of all surveyed demographics as 50 percent of men between the ages of 18 and 49 said they had invested or traded crypto assets.

Not only that, the surveyed participants have different views about cryptocurrencies and the industry, and 56 percent of the individuals surveyed explained that they are neutral or they are unsure about how they feel about the digital currency ecosystem.

Then, 19 percent of individuals surveyed view crypto assets and the industry positively while 25 percent view crypto negatively. The poll surveyed 1,000 adults from March 18 to March 22 and added a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

There have been many polls over the years that have attempted to gauge the number of Americans who have heard of or own a fraction of crypto assets. For example, more than four years ago, the Global Blockchain Business Council and Survey Monkey conducted a survey with 5,761 American adults.

According to survey statistics, 21 percent of participants are considering adding it to their portfolio in 2018 and 5 percent own digital assets. Much like the NBC News poll, a survey from Survey Monkey in 2018 highlighted that men were the super majority at 58 percent.

In mid-February 2022, a study published by Nordvpn explains the company surveyed 1,000 respondents and 68 percent of Americans are aware of the risks associated with crypto assets.

While 32 percent of the individuals surveyed revealed they were not aware of any risks, 69 percent of all American participants had an understanding of what cryptocurrencies were.

Meanwhile, another survey published by cryptoliteracy.org in late November 2021, shows that understanding of cryptocurrency fundamentals will still be low in 2021. Meanwhile, surveys surveyed people from several countries, 96 percent of Americans fail to understand basic crypto knowledge.
