Warren Buffett Considered the Biggest Enemy and Barrier to Bitcoin's Progress
Navigasi - Billionaire and investor, Peter Thiel calls Warren Buffett an enemy who is trying to stop cryptocurrencies. Thiel even says that Buffett is enemy number one and "the sociopath grandfather of Omaha."
In 2018, Thiel was reported to have raised hundreds of millions of dollars worth of bitcoins through the venture firm Founders Fund.
Launching CNBC International in Jakarta, Friday (8/4/22) Thiel was not happy when Buffett called Bitcoin 'rat poison'. Buffett also said that he would not own Bitcoin.
However, earlier this year, Berkshire invested $1 billion in Brazil's Nubank, an online bank popular with crypto investors.
“This is what we have to fight for to get bitcoin up 10x or 100x from here,” said Thiel. “When they choose not to allocate to bitcoin, it is a very political choice.”
A representative from Berkshire Hathaway did not immediately respond to a request for comment. To note, Peter Thiel is a billionaire and investor who formerly founded PayPal with Elon Musk and Max Levchin.
